Scott Bader’s New MMA Structural Adhesive Features Primer-less Bonding Technology

   The Crestabond® adhesives range of M7 (1:1) and M1 (10:1) MMA structural adhesives are unique to the market due to their primer-less bonding technology. Scott Bader has added Crestabond® M1-10 to this exciting range.

    Crestabond® M1-10 Adhesive

    Scott Bader's Crestabond® M1-10 is a toughened, two component acrylic adhesive designed for bonding composites, thermoplastics and metals.

  This new generation of structural methacrylate adhesive meets the bonding requirements of most assembly operations, demonstrating excellent impact, peel, shear, compressive strength and fatigue resistance properties across all bonded parts.

    Crestabond M1-10 is a primer-less adhesive, requiring only minimal surface cleaning of the substrates to be bonded and demonstrates high toughness in all assembled parts with a gap filling capability up to 15mm.

    Properties of New Adhesive

    Crestabond® M1-10 has a working time of 8-12 minutes and a fixture time of 16-23 minutes.

    In addition it has excellent fatigue and impact resistance, good gap filling capability and requires minimal surface preparation prior to bonding.

    In line with the rest of the Crestabond® range M1-10 is suitable for bonding a wide variety of substrates including but not limited to: grp, stainless steel, aluminum, abs, acrylic and polycarbonate.

    It is black in color which makes it an excellent adhesive for color sensitive bond lines, for instance with carbon fibre or black ABS parts.
