Sika to Strengthen its Position in Brazilian Construction Market with Acquisition of Lwart Química Ltda.

Sika has agreed to acquire Lwart Química Ltda., a renowned supplier of waterproofing products in Brazil. The acquisition strengthens Sikas position in the Brazilian construction chemicals market and complements Sikas geographical footprint in Brazil. Last year Lwart Química generated net sales of CHF 33 million.

Lwart Química Ltda. is a quality supplier of waterproofing products for the construction industry in Brazil, with a portfolio comprising over 300 specialized products. The company operates with two highly recognized brands - Lwart Impermeabilizantes in the technical waterproofing segment and Ciplak Impermeabilizantes in the retail market - and serves a strong, well-established customer base.

Including the newly acquired production plant in Lencois Paulista, Sika now operates five factories in Brazil with a workforce of more than 700 employees. The acquisition extends the product portfolio and strengthens Sikas position in the Brazilian construction chemicals market. It also offers cross-selling opportunities, partly through the established professional contractor customer base and partly through the distribution channel.
