BioAmber Presented Results of PUR Dispersions Made of Bio-succinic Acid at the CASE Study Conf.

The production of coatings, adhesive, sealants and elastomers based on polyurethane and polyurea chemistry is, understandably, one of the most diverse applications of this versatile technology.

CASE markets account more than 2.2 million tons of product. While precise data is hard to come by, the monetary value of this important segment is known to be high, in view of the complexity of the applications and the vital performance attributes which the PU-based materials provide: many of the products are precisely tailored for specific and highly demanding applications.

BioAmber presented the results of testing carried on Polyurethane dispersions made with BioAmber bio succinic acid applied to metal and steel substrates working with North Dakota State University (NDSU) . These results demonstrate excellent metal adhesion and enhanced solvent resistance of the bio succinic acid based coatings.
