Avery Dennison has developed a ClearCut adhesive for particularly thin, lightweight package labels. Thinner labels can reduce weight and materials, while providing attractive packaging for consumer products. Finding or making adhesives for these thinner, more economical labels has presented a challenge. The labels are more fragile, but need to have the same adhesion and durability as thicker labels. Thin materials also present challenges with ooze, dispensing, and wet out. Avery Dennison’s ClearCut Adhesive Technology is designed to overcome these issues, and provide operations with the option to use more economical and attractive thin labels. It has the added advantage of reduced haze and total water resistance. As a result, ClearCut adhesive is ideal for use on PET bottles, squeezable containers, and home and personal care products.
