Sika to Present Innovative Sealing Solutions for Repair of Wind Turbine Blades at WindTech 2013

MADISON HEIGHTS, MICH. -- Sika Corporation, premiere supplier of innovative sealing, bonding, reinforcement, and protection solutions to participate as a platinum sponsor and workshop presenter at the WindTech 2013, October 2-3, 2013 to be held at Columbia Gorge Community College, The Dalles, Oregon.

Sikas Wind Power Team will present, "An Introduction to Surface Finishing and Repair of Wind Turbine Blades" in their workshop session. The workshop will be presented by Mark Wheeler, Key Account Manager - Wind, and Dr. George Sivy Product Engineering Manager focused on educating wind power technicians and students on the proper selection and use of adhesives and sealants for repairing wind blades and wind turbines.

In addition, Sika will offer a "hands-on" workshop, where participants will have the opportunity to work with Sikas full range of structural adhesives and sealant solutions for wind blade and nacelle repairs. These products included the unique SikaForce two-component polyurethane structural adhesives for blade surface repair; Sikaflex one-component sealants and adhesives, Sikasil silicones and SikaFast two-component MMA structural adhesives.  Participants learned how to properly measure, mix, apply and finish 2-component products, as well as, dispense and properly seal joints with 1-component sealants.
