Scott Bader at China Composites Expo: to Display Urethane Acrylate-based Acrylic Resins and more

Scott Bader Asia Pacific is exhibiting at the 19th China Composites Expo 2013, which runs from 11-13 September at the China International Exhibition Center, Beijing. This year on the Scott Bader stand (BK41) several new specialty resin, tooling and adhesive products will be shown for the first time in China.

The extended Scott Bader product range has a number of new products with particular application and production benefits for mass transport and vehicle component manufacturers. New products being shown includes: Crystic Gelcoat 15PA, a new vinyl ester (VE) spray tooling gelcoat; Crestapol 1250 LVE a new longer shelf life Export grade; plus a number of ATC products, which have now been added to Scott Bader Asia Pacifics range following the acquisition of ATC Formulated Polymers Inc. by Scott Bader back in February of this year.

Crystic Gelcoat 15PA is a new vinyl ester (VE) spray tooling gelcoat which Scott Bader first launched back in March at JEC Europe 2013. This high performance tooling gelcoat offers superior gloss retention and surface finish. Crystic Gelcoat 15PA spray tooling gelcoat is a key addition to the Scott Bader Crystic matched tooling system, which offers mould makers a brush tooling gelcoat if preferred, along with a VE skincoat and a choice of standard or rapid tooling back up resins.

Additionally for tooling moulds, plug and pattern production, two POLY-FAIR modified polyester tooling compounds from ATC Scott Bader are also being showcased at China Composites; an extrudable and sprayable version. Poly-Fair T28 is the extrudable tooling compound, designed for milling of small and large plugs or direct limited production moulds using Computer Numerical Control (CNC) multiple axis machines. Poly-Fair T27 is the sprayable version, which is also fully CNC machinable. It is designed for milling patterns and large plugs with dimensions of 10-25 meters INSERT INTO [lzx].[dbo].[tb_new]([id],[type],[title],[source],[personal],[image],[contents],[time],[number]) VALUES (30-75ft) or direct limited production moulds. It can be sprayed with several passes up to a thickness of approximately 25mm INSERT INTO [lzx].[dbo].[tb_new]([id],[type],[title],[source],[personal],[image],[contents],[time],[number]) VALUES (1"). Both Poly-Fair grades offer the benefits of low shrink, high toughness and dust free cutting to produce a highly accurate profile of the finished part.

Other ATC products being promoted on the Scott Bader Asia Pacific stand are the low-density polyester based POLY-BOND displacement molding compounds (DMC) which are designed to fill the space within fiber reinforcement layers and cores when compression moulded. Sandwich construction parts can be very cost effectively manufactured in a single cycle using a low pressure, closed mould compression-type processes. Two DMC grades are offered, standard Poly-Bond B55 and B55LV, a low viscosity version.
