Dow Introduces non-APE based TRITON™ HW-1000 Wetting Agent for Water-based Adhesives

MIDLAND -- The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) announced the launch of TRITON™ HW-1000 Surfactant High PerformanceWetting Agent in North America. This non-APE based surfactant meets growing performance needs for water-based formulations to meet low- and no-VOC regulatory requirements in multiple industries, while also addressing industry requirements for faster processing. TRITON HW-1000 Surfactant is relevant to a broad range of applications including coatings, printing and inks, metalworking fluids, cleaning, agrochemicals and adhesives.

TRITON HW-1000 Surfactant features excellent wetting and leveling performance, and demonstrates low foaming and de-foaming capabilities. It effectively reduces the surface tension of waterborne solutions under both static and dynamic statuses. Thus, it is capable of wetting various substrates and more successfully reducing defects while improving the gloss and smoothness of coating films. TRITON HW-1000 has demonstrated capabilities in helping to improve solution flow in formulated systems. Additionally, rapid pigment dispersion capability has been found in customer-driven tests.
