Empresas Artecola Acquires Pegatex, an Adhesives Producer in Colombia

Pegatex, the major operation of national capital in Colombia in the segment of adhesives, is now a part of Empresas Artecola. The details for the business integration have just been finished, resulting in the creation of Pegatex Artecola S.A., with 55% of its capital under control of the Brazilian company. "This alliance will place Artecola Chemicals among the three biggest companies in Net Revenue, in Colombia. Its a strategic step in our way towards our Vision 2015, that aims to put us among the three biggest companies and become a Latin-American reference in the markets in which we operate", celebrates the Executive President of Empresas Artecola , Eduardo Kunst.

With negotiations ending, the operations of Artecola Qumica in the Andes Region, that involved plants from Peru and Colombia, are united to the Colombian Pegatex. In the new structure, Artecola Qumica Peru is now an subsidiary of Pegatex Artecola S.A.

Molytec also joins the business, a company dedicated to selling special lubricants and cleaners from the German OKS (Freundenberg Group) controlled by the same partners from Pegatex, now under equal control of the new company.

The process of integration of the teams started, when collaborators from both companies were informed about the change. The new operation will contribute in leveraging the Net Revenue of Empresas Artecola in 2013, estimated in R$ 650 million, a daring 31% over 2012 (R$ 496 millions). "This policy of strong growth has been providing several benefits to our clients, which can rely with a wide provision of services, along with knowledge in different sectors, as well as constant investments in research, development and innovation. All this will improve in quality with the incorporation of successful formulas that Pegatex and Molytec have provided for the Colombian market", emphasizes Eduardo Kunst. In this first phase, the relation of the company with the clients will not undergo any changes, keeping the products from both brands and the network of representatives.
