Gelest Unveils Volatile Higher Silanes for Flexible Electronic Applications


MORRISVILLE, Pa. -- Gelest Inc., a leading innovator, manufacturer and supplier of organosilicon compounds, metal-organic compounds and silicones to the global marketplace, has extended its product offering to include volatile higher silanes. Gelests new offerings include trisilane, isotetrasilane and neopentasilane, which are produced in the companys newly commissioned facility in Morrisville, Pennsylvania.

Gelests volatile higher silanes are low-temperature, high-deposition-rate precursors suitable for a variety of semiconductor-grade and flexible electronic applications, including:

  • Amorphous hydrogenated silicon (a-Si:H) films
  • Germanium-doped (compression-strained) silicon
  • Carbon-doped (tensil-strained) silicon
  • Silicon chemical vapor deposition (CVD) atomic layer deposition (ALD) and atomic layer epitaxy (ALE)
  • Silicon and silicon-binary quantum-dots by photolytic or laser induction
  • Silicon-based photovoltaics.
