Zeon Chemicals to Enhance Production Capacity of its Acrylic Rubber at its Kentucky Plant

Zeon Chemicals L.P. (President and CEO: Thomas Gettelfinger) a fully owned subsidiary of Zeon Corporation (President and CEO: Naozumi Furukawa) has decided to increase production capacity of acrylic rubber (HyTemp) at its Kentucky plant.

Acrylic rubber has mainly been used in the oil resistant rubber materials for automotive seals and hoses. The demand has risen in recent years in accordance with the increase in production of new vehicles and the needs for the long life products across the world.

In addition, in line with the combustion temperature rise in the engine compartment, and in response to the low fuel consumption movement and the increase in the adoption of turbocharger systems, the demand for superior heat and oil resistant acrylic rubbers is expected to increase.

In order to meet a growing global demand for acrylic rubbers, Zeon Chemicals L.P. expands production capacity of acrylic rubber plant in Kentucky State to 1.5 times the present level by July 2013.
