Arizona Expands in Asia by Opening Technology Lab in China

Shanghai, China -- Officials from Arizona Chemical, along with employees from the companys growing operation in Asia, officially opened the companys newest science and technology lab in China.

Attending the opening ceremonies representing Arizona Chemical were Carl Bilgrien, Arizona Chemicals Vice President and Chief Technology Officer; Joe Chan, Arizona Chemicals Vice President, Asia, team members from Shanghai, Asia, the U.S., and guests from Trump, our distributor in China.

"The ribbon-cutting on our state-of-the-art Science & Technology Lab is a critical component of the execution and commitment to our strategy to grow in Asia," said Joe Chan, Vice President, Asia.

"A key pillar of our strategic plan is to establish Arizona Chemical as the leading tackifier supplier with $100 million sales in Asia , and a manufacturing plant in China by 2015", Carl Bilgrien explained. "This lab will enable us to serve our customers in Asia and help us achieve that key component of our strategy."

The facility, located on Yingdu Road in Shanghai, employs five people, including a senior scientist, a lab supervisor, an application specialist and two interns. Arizona Chemical also has laboratories in Savannah, Georgia, in the US and Almere, the Netherlands in the EU.

The opening of this new facility expands Arizona Chemicals presence in Asia. For a number of years, the company has had a small sales team based in Singapore. The team has now grown to more than 20 employees in China and Singapore.
