Munich/Dubai -- WACKER, the Munich-based chemical company, reorganizes and enhances its distribution network for its silicone and polymer products in Africa to improve efficiency and to create crossregional synergies. As part of a global consolidation process, the Orkila Group has been entrusted with the distribution of selected silicone and polymer products out of WACKERs portfolio in North Africa.

Thereafter, as existing contracts allow, the scope of the agreement will be extended to include most parts of West and East Africa. The Orkila Group already distributes selected silicone products for WACKER in Morocco. In further regions of Africa, Orkila will focus on dispersible polymer powders and dispersions as well as on silicone emulsions, silicone resins, sealants, antifoam agents, silicone fluids, silanes and silicone elastomers. The main application areas for these WACKER products in Africa are the construction, paints and coatings, cosmetics, textiles and pulp and paper-processing sectors, the chemical process industry and the food and pharma industry.

WACKER is a world-leading manufacturer of dispersible polymer powders and dispersions based on vinyl acetate-ethylene and vinyl chloride copolymers, marketed worldwide as VINNAPAS and VINNOL.

These thermoplastic, plasticizer-free polymers are mainly used in construction chemicals, adhesives, nonwovens, paints and coatings, paper, carpets and textiles.
